Condition: Good. 256 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial cloth. Insert to front pastedown. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with moderate foxing. Front endpaper has been removed. Hinges are cracked and binding is loose. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Bound in the original olive-green pictorial cloth, lettered in off-white and black. The front cover depicts 2 sailors manning a gun mounted on the foredeck of a British warship that seems to be traveling at full speed. The illustrated spine features a jack-booted German Officer holding binoculars. This book has no date on the title or copyright pages. The British Museum Catalogue (online) lists two editions of this title (1919 and 1938) but the descriptions lack sufficient detail to confidently differentiate between them. . Possible first edition.
