Book
Paperback. Condition: Good. The hunted becomes the hunter. Meet Parker, the ultimate professional. Parker is a master thief, and a man with a heart of steel. He believes in the oldest law of all - a life for a life. His one-time partner, Mal, tried to pull a fast one, making off with Parker's share of the takings after a successful heist, as well as his Parker's wife, Lynn. Big mistake. They thought they had left him for dead, but Parker survived their bullets and now he's out for revenge and prepared to do whatever it takes. The prey has become the hunter, and now Parker is stalking them, leaving a trail of carnage in his wake. Haunting and brutal, Point Blank was made into the cult classic movie starring Lee Marvin as well as the more recent Parker starring Jason Statham, and remains one of the most distinctive crime thrillers ever written. The book has been read but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact and the cover is intact. Some minor wear to the spine.

Hardcover. Condition: neuwertig. Erste Aufl. (Verlagstext) Donald Edwin Westlake (* 12. Juli 1933 in Brooklyn, New York City; gestorben 31. Mit Unterstützung der New Yorker Literaturagentur Scott Meredith veröffentlichte Westlake 1960 seinen ersten Kriminalroman The Mercenaries (dt.: Das Gangstersyndikat). Vintage reference photograph from the 1967 film, showing actor Lee Marvin in a crowd. Annotations in manuscript ink on the verso. Based on the 1963 novel "The Hunter" by Donald E. Westlake. An unapologetic, nihilistic work, one of the gems of early neo-noir and a foundational late 1960s crime film, setting the stage for the New Hollywood era. Viewers and critics have often questioned whether or not the film is really a dream that its protagonist has after he is shot in the very beginning. Director John Boorman claims to not have an opinion on the matter, and has said that the film is about the lead character's dehumanizing experiences during World War II. 10 x 8 inches. Faint wear to the finish on the left edge, else about Near Fine. National Film Registry. Grant US. Rosenbaum 1000. Scorsese, A Personal Journey Through American Movies. Silver and Ward Neo-Noir US.
