Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Don Forrer (illustrator). Reprint. First published in 1937, this is the third printing from July, 1945. Preface by the author. This book of fairy stories and folk tales of Hawaii collects stories from two previous volumes: 1925's "The Bright Islands" (two volumes) and, from the previous year, "At The Gateways of the Day". There is browning to edges and endpapers, and bottom edge of front board has a couple of spots where the cloth is worn through. Front endpaper has not one, but two of those darned bookseller's labels. A very good copy with the nice turquoise printed labels on spine and front cover looking bright and clean. Dust jacket is price-clipped, worn and browned, extremities strengthened with tape on inside and outside surfaces, and spine panel has a couple of tears and light stains. A good plus jacket that is basically complete. JS.
Condition: Good. Good condition. (legends, hawaii, folklore) A copy that has been read but remains intact. May contain markings such as bookplates, stamps, limited notes and highlighting, or a few light stains.
