Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This is a SCARCE 341 pp. STATED FIRST EDITION of the 3rd book by the renowned Kentucky author of 65 books. There is a prior owner's name atop the first blank flyleaf. There is dark binding staining just inside the front & rear boards (as is typical with this book)-- otherwise it is clean & unmarked internally. There is typical external soiling for an 87 year old, light colored book. The number "50" is on the front board 1/4" high -- 2" down from the top edge, on a blank area of the beige cloth. It was black (probably a grease marking pencil). It is much lighter now, as I tried erasing it, but the remainder is down in the open-weave of the cloth binding. It certainly would be better if that wasn't there, BUT the book still presents fairly well even with it, and I have priced down the book accordingly. -- THE PHOTO IS A STOCK IMAGE -- NOT A PHOTO OF THIS COPY !!.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good+. 1st Edition. Beige cloth w/red lettering & artwork. Very good condition with the normal binding glue staining on the gutters internally and, in this case, evident in the cloth binding gutters. The dust jacket would easily be near fine except for lack of mylar protection over the years. Regardless it is the best jacket available at time of this listing. Inscription is dated Apr. 6th, 1974.
