Folio broadside (48 x 28 cm). Folded to quarters. About fine. A textually dense invitation to an event April 6 at Highlands honoring: "Tartini, Clarence White, C.M. Bowra, Richard Neutra and Catfish Hunter ." The text further summarizes present publishing triumphs and future plans, financial needs ("It costs us $1000 a week to operate ."), and pleas for Patrons and Benefactors: "Join us and be assured that Orpheus will give you all the cold-collard-green sandwiches you can east in the Elysian Fields forever!" Broadly directly (first name only) in the top margin to its intended recipient, and signed with initials. Accompanied by a t.l.s. ("Jonathan") to the same recipient, 10 April 1986, written from the road: "three weeks now: readings (Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, NC) and then a week of tracking down southern weirds for my folk-art book. I like the latter more than the former, but I am a hardened veteran of the orphic circuit and see it for the pig- trough of professors it is ." Additionally, he notes that "WHITE TRASH COOKING has been selling like mad and distracting us a bit from somewhat more noble projects. It's great fun, however, to publish a book that even Jesse Helms likes!".
