Softcover, bound in decorative color handmade paper wraps with a rectangular keyhole in the front cover which reveals the authors name. There is a tiny stain to the bottom corner of the front cover. 4 deckle-edged leaves, including the colophon, printed in French fold on handmade paper. Illustrated with a four-color woodcut [portrait of the author] by Sidney Chafetz, signed by the artist. Near fine. A beautiful production. Limited edition of 100 numbered copies signed by Mark Strand. The colophon reads: "This folio is one of a continuing series of keepsakes produced at the Logan Elm Press & Papermill, each of which contains a short text and a portrait of the author. For this piece, Mark Strands poem, copyright 1986, was hand-set in Janson types by Russell McKnight and printed on paper made by him from cotton, linen, and abaca fibers. The frontispiece is a four-color reduction woodcut by Sidney Chafetz, copyright 1988.".

Over 20, various-sized illustrations by Eric May, printed in black or gray. Between pp. [11-12] is the design-printed pop-up of "The Sphinx" seated on a sofa, with smaller illustrations in the background. Dark gray cloth spine and sides, and corner-pieces, with a printed gray paper title label mounted on the spine, and dark gray paper over boards, with Eric May designs on the front and back covers, black endpapers.
