Lovely chromolithograph on the front cover of a monkey dressed in red tails with a blue hat, perched in an apple tree holding an apple. Boards are in good condition considering the fragility and age of this book. The paper spine is open and missing for the bottom 4 inches and is beginning to separate for the rest of the spine. The staples are present and the pages are all still secure. Pages are clean and colors are bright and intense. 14 chromolithograph illustrations. 32 pages.

The corners of the covers are gently bumped, and the underlyining boards are exposed at the corners. There is a light crease in the rear board. The spine is very slightly rolled back and faded. There is a small loss from the head of the spine that measures just under 1/4 of an inch. The pages at the beginning are mildly foxed. There are occasional small light stains on the pages. Elizabeth Billings Stuart also wrote Daddy Duck Stories.
