Book
Hard Back. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. 96 Pages. Hard boards are a maroon imitation leather with the title on the front cover in gold. The spine is blank. Probably issued without a dust jacket. A pictorial book prepared by the publisher of a monthly magazine with an interest in tourism. Every page is illustrated with beautifully done color photography and two or three photographs per page in addtion to descriptive text. This book has a gold lablel on the title page Compliments of the State of New Mexico Economic Development and Tourism Department. Contents: Foreword, Enchanting Land, A Great Treasure, With Beauty Before Me, Autumn's Glow, The Sparkle of Winter, Feliz Navidad, La Gente The People, The Vast Outdoors, Preservation and Growth, and Epilogue. This hardback addition appears to be a specially prepared presentation edition using the original paperback publication by simply adding the covers and endpapers. This evidence for this is the ISBN, the copyright page statement First Paperback Edition 1984, the Economic Development and Tourism Department presentation lable on the title page, and the presence of the pictorial ranch scene with a windmill and stock tank on the stiff card covers that are the original covers for the paperback edition.
48pp, (8.5 x 11 inches), color photos. Fine condition, soft cover, stapled. Everything clean, crisp, no bumps, tears of creases, no markings. "Fine furniture - handmade" by Brice Sewell, "New Mexico style: The secret is out" by Polly summar, "Regional furniture rides a wave of popularity" by elmo Baca, "Weaving a link with the past" by David Sperling, "Horacio Valdez: Master Santero" by Jim Sagel, "Casa San Ysidro : an 18th century hacienda" by Mike Shearer.

Blanda. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: Nuevo. No Aplica (illustrator). 1. 280 gr. Libro.

Blanda. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: Nuevo. No Aplica (illustrator). 1. 280 gr. Libro.

By Richard Fairfield, with Photographs by Consuelo Sandoval, Sankichi Nomoto & Mamo Kato. "Material on Japanese communes was compiled from personal experience and interviews in the communes themselves with added material and insights from other writers and visitors, including Meyer Steinbach, M.D.; Noboyoshi Tezuka, Michael Howden, and staff of the Japan Kibbutz Association." Japanese Communes in this book include: Itto-en Community; New Village; Ohoyamato Ajisai; Shinkyo Commune; Yamagishi-kai Association; Hokkaido Yamagishi-ism; The Tribe; and more. (I wonder if Haruki Murakami based the commune in his book 1Q84 on one of these?) Published by Alternative Foundation, San Francisco, 1972. First Edition. ISBN: 0912976020 GOOD condition, the covers have some light toning and corner creases; internally just lightly used, tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked. A solid, presentable copy. RARE and interesting look at the Japanese Utopian Communes of the early 1970s.
