Price-clipped dust jacket faces front and back well preserved and well positioned in a mylar protector with backing which has smoothed out a lot of the creasing. That being said, there are several imperfections. In charcoal pencil on front cover written "25c". Spine is sunned and chipped missing one inch at head, tail is also chipped (eighth of an inch) on front cover edge, rub and crease marks along bottom and top edges with closed tears, only one on top edge large enough to detract from cover art. Also on top edge a second chip with one half inch diameter triangle missing. As for the book, front endpaper has been removed so it starts off with half title page. Binding is a little loose at pastedowns and boards have mild shelf wear, yellowed page edges. Two BW photographs, one of editors and the other of painting by DH Lawrence. Introduction by Graham Greene. Viking April 1953 first US edition. 192 pages with index. Superb mid-century decorations by Bruce Roberts who also design the dust jacket and title page. Book.
