Imperial octavo softcover (VG-); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Ordering more than one book will reduce your overall postage cost.

Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition; First Printing. Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 352 pages; 1st printing. An unusual copy, signed by both Hillary and Elder on the title page and with an additional signed inscription by Hillary to the foot of the title page, referencing his most recent Antarctic trip. The book is inscribed to Kristin Keith, then the East Coast sales person for Publisher's West. By all appearances this appears to be something of an ad hoc special signed edition; a $50 price sticker has been applied by the publisher over the $26 issue price printed to the top corner of the front jacket flap. While there is no limitation page or indication of a special signed edition, the higher priced sticker and the inscription to an important sales representative ( who saved many such limited and signed editions from her time in the trade) suggest this copy is an example of an ad hoc signed limited number of copies. Feels and appears unread, Crisp edged and uniformly bright dust jacket with just a whisper of shelf evidence. Handsome copy. F/NF; Signed by All Authors.
