Seller: Frank Hofmann, Yorba Linda, CA, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. General turning gray by age. Spine somewhat dull but still legible. Illustrated by Randolph Adler. Interior clean but page edges turning yellow/brown. An 8th-inch wound at the top of the spine. One of a series of charming books turned out in the thirties. An interesting note printed on a page before the title page states: "In this book, for the first time, the entries in 'Samuel Pepys' Diary' are selected and arranged to be read and enjoyed by the person with limited leisure." A brave publisher. It is akin to climbing Everest with nothing but a walking stick. Nevertheless, a wonderful little book.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Frank J. Buttera (illustrator). First Edition. A very good copy of the presumed first DeLuxe Editions hard cover edition (no explicit edition or printing statement), lacking a dust-jacket. Brief gift inscription in ink atop front free endpaper (part of which is blacked out), else the text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the binding bright and fresh in appearance, with moderate wear at the extremities of the boards. A lovely copy.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Painted Cover Art! (illustrator). First Paperback Ed. & 1st Printing!. 159 pages "The hard crack of a rifle shattered te stillness of the hills, the bullet ricocheting off a rock near Bruce Powell's head. 'Ride back!' yelled Que Layton. 'i've got fifty guns covering you!' There seemed to be no other way out, and yet Powell hesitated. If he rode back, he'd be dooming Wirt Downer and his cattle herd to an ambush death. They moved like dancers, circling in the rough trail, bending, swaying, backstepping, the muscles of their arms corded like the clutching roots of the trees around them.
