This is a hardcover book with 322 pages including many photos and illustrations. The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no soiling, writing, or tears. The copyright page shows 1936 as the published date. This is definitely Not a former library book. The dust jacket is about 99% intact with some chipping on the top and bottom of the spine, light soiling and there is a five inch closed tear and a one inch closed tear on the top of the back. I have placed the DJ in a fresh mylar jacket and this old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!.

Bound Japanese style with two ribbon ties, 8vo (7 1/2 x 10 in - 19 x 25 cm), paper wraps with front cover illustrated with a color illustration, 13 black and white collotype plates showing flower arrangements, numerous text illustrations/line drawings, 41 pp. The front and back covers are double fold pages with gold spackle design on the inside of the cover. The introduction states that this book is addition to a manual the authors have already published and the purpose is ".to give you a little idea of the value to you of Japanese flower arrangement in rousing your interest in flowers of your own garden and country." ~ Condition. The book is in Very Good condition. The covers are lightly soiled and have occasional stains. The front end page is toned. One collotype plate has a section where matter adheres. Internally clean and free from stains, markings or tairs.
