Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. George Herriman (illustrator). Nice copy of this classic piece of humorous satire - first published in book form in 1927. Hard to settle on a date for this copy. The Don Marquis website gives this dust jacket design as being from 1973, but I've seen it listed variously as being from 1955 or 1944. In the book the latest copyright date for Doubleday is given as 1930, but that doesn't mean much. The book is in black cloth with gilt lettering and illustration on front board. Top edge is stained yellow, foredges untrimmed. Illustrated yellow endpapers. Price on jacket flap is $2.75. There are some specks of wear at spine ends, bottom edge and gutters, but this is a very good copy indeed, tight and square. Dust jacket is very good, a little rubbed and edgeworn with minimal nicks at extremities and one very short closed tear at top of front panel. JS.
