Hardcover. Condition: Very Good++. 6 Volume Hardcover Set, Uniform Binding P.F. Collier & Sons. 1942 and 1943. Stated Sixth Series. All six volumes are Very Good++. Just a whisper of shelf/edge wear to Black cloth boards with red square panels/gilt titles on the spine and embossed murder weapons on the front covers (handguns, knives, swords, rifles, etc) - corners sharp. Endpapers are clean with no toning. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked with no toning. Only flaw is a touch of foxing to the textblock edges on the outside. This is another fine example of uniform binding with a touch of panache from P.F. Collier & Sons. Titles are: Black Orchids by Rex Stout, 1942 - 271 pages, Phantom Lady by William Irish, 1942 - 291 pages, A Corpse By Any Other Name byR.A.J. Walling, 1943 - 283 pages, The Case Of The Drowning Duck by Erle Stanley Gardner, 1942 - 284 pages, Siren In The Night by Leslie Ford, 1943 - 241 pages and Death On The Aisle by Frances and Richard Lockridge, 1942 - 288 pages. A very scarce wartime set in any condition and this set is exceptional. LOC SSS-28.
