The originals are now owned by the Virginia Historical Society. Some sections were used in The Eye of the Storm which was published in 2000, which contained fewer watercolours to illustrate the lengthy passages. This edition uses brief quotations and a much larger selection of the watercolours. An incredible record of the Civil War from one man's perspective and wonderful artistic skill. Index.
