BF2 - A tight, clean, sound copy with minor overall shelf wear with some tape staining the outside surfaces of the front and back boards and the front and back fixed and free endpapers from where the dust jacket endflaps were taped to the boards plus there is a tiny patch of board showing (about 0.25") at the bottom left corner of the back board plus there are the usual library stamps, labels, and pocket on the top, bottom, and right outside paper edges, the front and back free endpapers, the title page, and the copyright page plus there is some light soiling and yellowing on the outside paper edges plus ther eis some very, very light edge wear and soiling along the top and bottom edges of the boards plus the book is slightly shelf cocked. The dust jacket shows minor overall shelf wear with some very, very light fading on the spine plus there is a library label on the spine plus there is tape staining on the front and back endflaps from where they were taped to the boards plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. A mystery set in a small English village near Stratford on Avon. A police inspector is called in to investigate the discovery of a girl in a grave. She is emaciated and claims to have existed there in a state of suspended animation for 350 years and to have known Shakespeare and Ben Johnson. A salesman becomes her spokesman and manager, a wealthy producer decides to cash in on her story, and many people begin to believe she has been telling the truth. Unfortunately a series of deaths follow those who come in contact with the girl and it is blamed on a curse on Shakespeare's tomb. In the mean time, the police inspector and two detectives doggedly search for leads in what they are convinced is a deadly and vicious hoax. 186p. Size: 8vo - over 7ž" - 9ž" tall. Ex-Library.
