Pictorial Hard Cover. Condition: Fair. Harold Gaze (illustrator). 1st Edition. The cover has beige cloth with green letters and an illustration in green, beige, and white. The endpapers have a browntone illustration. 113 pages; 5 plates of color illustrations. Each of the 24 stories, in free verse, start with, "If I Could., " then names an item in nature. The text is printed on the right hand pages only. The cloth has shelf wear and handling soiling. Most of the green ink is gone from the spine strip. The green ink on the front board is mostly there, but the white enamel is mostly missing. The ends of the spine strip and five of the boards' corners are frayed. The free endpapers are missing. A gift inscription, dated 1921, is in the owner's block. An owner's name and address are on the front, blank page. The tissue guards are missing from the plates. Four of the plates each have a small amount of faint, pencil outlining. Three stains, up to 3/4 in., on the pages are somewhat dark. Other stains are faint and/or tiny. The margin used to bind the frontispiece with the first gathering is mostly chipped, Two ink-stamped words are on the margin of one page. International shipping will require extra cost.
