Half-green over beige publisher's cloth, gilt lettering on spine (minor shelfwear, rubbing), w/ d.j. wraparound colour aerial photograph (slight shelfwear), NF/NF copy, from library of George T. Banister, w/ TLS laid-in addressed to Goddard, and reply ALS from Gen. Goddard, and copy inscribed by Goddard on title, w/ clippings laid-in. First edition, stated, and signed, chronicling the efforts of Gen. George Goddard (1889-1987), who pioneered aerial photography, and began early studies in infra-red, long-range photography, aerial cameras, photographic aircraft, and field lab equipment for the US Military. Goddard writes in his poignant TLS to Banister that "I am please to know that you liked the book, which I am sorry to say did not do very well. . . military books which were published in 1969, during the Vietnam War, could not compete with books by Abbie Hoffman, Dr. Spock, Jane Fonda, and their ilk.".
