First Edition. presumed original calf binding, lower third of spine and label missing, hinges cracked but binding cords still holding all together, library stamps of Dublin religious institution library on title page and a couple of other early pages, discolouring from old damp affecting margins near lower spine, not into text, otherwise clean and sound, text block generally tight and sound, 603 pages. A pioneering work, first of several volumes, it was the first to identify and describe the Gutenberg Bible. Text is in French. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
