Gray cloth boards with green spine; As and swans as decorations on the spine and boards. Pictorial color endpapers. Clean internals, Tinted textblock top. Internal hinges are sound and not split 343 pp 8vo. This is a collection of 29 of Andersen's best fairy tales highlighted by color and B&W illustrations by Arthur Szyk. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.

This edition originally published 1940s but this copy likely early 1960s. Illustrated with color plates and additional illustrations in black and white. Tan cloth with a repeating design of geese and A monograms, endpapers illustrated in full color, illustrated dustjacket. The book is very good with minor rubbing to the spine ends, good hinges, firm text block, very clean pages with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [250250] and is in generally good condition with overall shelf scuffing mainly to the rear panel, very minor residue from removal of a department store price sticker at lower left corner of front panel, a couple of closed tears to edges of rear panel, edge rubbing, no chips. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Profusely illustrated by the Robinsons, with colour frontispiece and front cover by Charles. Professionally repaired: endpapers mended (with new free endpaper to front; spine rebacked. Half title present. Leather plate to front pastedown, most likely from Plymouth High School for Girls, with their motto "Non scholae sed vitae discimus" and the initials Phs. Light soil to a few leaves, but overall a tidy early example.
