Also laid in is an approximately 5 inch by 8 inch card, printed on one side, indicating that the recipient is invited to only the two major events and could not be honored at other events. Minor soiling. Large envelop that contained this invitation is present, with the addressee's name and address on the front. An inaugural committee is appointed by the President-elect to be in charge of the presidential inaugural ceremony and activities connected with the ceremony. This committee is required to disclose to the FEC donations received. This report is due to the FEC no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the 90th day following the date of the presidential inaugural ceremony. The inauguration of Jimmy Carter as the 39th President of the United States was held on Thursday, January 20, 1977, at the East Portico of the United States Capitol in Washington D.C. This was the 48th inauguration and marked the commencement of the only term of both Jimmy Carter as President and Walter Mondale as Vice President. Chief Justice Warren E. Burger administered the presidential oath of office to Carter, and Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill administered the vice-presidential oath of office to Mondale. This was the last inauguration held on the East Portico of the Capitol building. Presumed First Edition, First printing thus.
