Wraps. Condition: New. First printing. Octavo, pp. 50, numerous color illustrations, preface by James Howard Fraser, overview article by Blanka Stehlikova. Cataloguing 89 scarce titles, all illustrated. Scarce reference work, documenting a period of intense creativity. The Czech avant-garde has been compared to the German movement of the same period, but has been a "well kept secret" in the United States, at least until the publication of this groundbreaking exhibition by James Fraser at Fairleigh Dickinson University. A beautiful, well researched and documented effort, worthy of inclusion in any bookman's collection.

Condition: Very Good. First printing. 12mo, pp. 220. Frontis b/w image of Wolf and 6 original woodblock prints illustrating the text. Rather scarce illustrated edition of Wolf's plays. This copy is especially interesting as it came from the library of Weimar German/American photographer Lotte Jacobi, who photographed Wolf in the 1920s. (We also have inscribed Wolf editions to Jacobi from the twenties.) Two plays that the socialist, revolutionary physician Wolf had written in the Weimar era (1923) and in early post war Germany (1952), which fit the agenda of the German Democratic Republic brand of socialism. The high point of this collection is the wonderfully powerful original woodcuts by Felixmüller. Original Wraps, with woodcut illustration in black on orange.
