This King Penguin is in a very good condition despite the spine of the DJ being slightly darker in colour due to age. There is a very small amount of wear of the DJ at the top of the back fold and a 1cm clean tear at the top on the back. There are 16 colour plates. 32pp plus plates.

The DJ is near perfect except for a 40x6mm mark on the top of the front where there is the faint remains of a label. There is a very slight marking on the front board. There are many photographs and diagrams. xi, 105pp This book describes the history of the Utility scheme during the war years and it also tries to show how these objects are somehow linked to the conditions extant during the time they were designed.

It is a beautiful copy which is lavishly illustrated with his paintings throughout. There are also many photographs of him and his people. At the end there are details of selected literature that were used for the exhibition. 223 illustrations, 168 in colour, 192pp This book, the result of much research, explores the techniques that Kirchner used and how the paints themselves helped create the richness of colours in his paintings.
