Reprint (1941, 1965, & 1980). 322pp, (5.25 x 8 inches), b&w photos, b&w drawings by the author. A few tiny checkmarks and one sentence underlined in the foreword. Otherwise book is clean and furmly bound, no other markings, no tears or creases. The author was an aristocratic French artist, traveler, and journalist who lived with the Inuit (Eskimo) and shared their life in the Canadian Arctic.

Just the barest signs of wear to boards, spine ends soft, page edges lightly soiled (dusty looking). Owner's delicate gift inscription on back of frontis page, dated 1911.
