London: Longmans, Green, and Co., 1875 - First Edition - near Very Good hardcover - 9.25" tall - brown mottle-patterned paper covered boards with brown cloth backstrip and tips, paper label on spine - lessons in Sanskrit, using devanagari lettering as well as English transliteration - light sunning and rubbing to covers, rubbed top and bottom cover edges - tiny neat interlinear writing on about 8 lesson pages, faint ink smudge in a lower margin otherwise clean, clear text with no other markings - 96 pages. Printed at Oxford. Preface dated Sept 1, 1875, New Britain CT. Elihu Burritt (1810-1879), born in New Britain, CT, was a 19th century peace advocate known as the "Learned Blacksmith.".
