Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. VG in VG- dustwrapper. The first novel by John Buchan's son, an atmospheric story of the Raj and of the two great loves of Armin Wensley's life. 187pp Patterned pale green clothe with a bright green apine and black lettering. But for very slight rubbing at the spine ends the book is excellent throughout. The pictorial d/w is made of paper which goes brittle with age and this has happened in this case resulting in the hinges to the spine splitting completely. Neat tape repairs have been carried out at some time. There are also some small pieces missing around the edges. That said the d/w retains its bright colours and is attractive in appearance. Loosely inserted is a cutting of Time magazine's review on first publication.
