The rustic and the ethereal fuse with the crispness of mountain air, as a gothic tale of love and murder unfurls amidst great beauty. When innocence has a price, and promises come cheap, it would take all of Lata s strength to navigate the underbelly of Mumbai with nothing but a vermillion dream. There are things that remain out of time s reach -among them: the deep blush and citrus mischief of love, memories and plums. Even the most hardened criminal would cower before the silence of those who have nothing more to lose.

A compilation of varied and evocative stories by a master of Urdu and Urdu fiction, this book demonstrates how the delicate essence of a narrative can be carried into another language, with both simplicity and stylistic flair.
