Calibrations is a special presentation from Caliber Comics that offers four complete first issues from the library of Caliber. Each issue features fan favorites and possibly some undiscovered gems. Caliber is one of the more diverse publisher in independent comics and the selections in each issue are sure to be varied in subject matter and genres. Leading off this first issue is Gary Reed’s Saint Germaine, a critically acclaimed series about a man who lives forever but has died a 1,000 deaths. The artist of the first few issues is Vince Locke, known for his work on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman and A History of Violence, later turned into a feature film. Mike Carey, of Lucifer fame, teams up with Michael Gaydos, the co-creator of Netflix’s Jessica Jones, to bring Inferno which is the tale of a man who is cast off into Hell. He has a plan of escape...if only he could remember it. In Strange Detective Mysteries, Terry Pavlet and Sam Gafford offer a story that has some of the greatest minds on the time....Arthur Conan Doyle, Harry Houdini, Nikola Tesla, H.G. Wells, and more to solve the mystery of who killed Edgar Allen Poe. The fourth story is a conspiracy laded saga that reaches into the connections between the death of Marilyn Monroe and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Writer Gary Reed is joined by artists Laurence Campbell (Stephen King’s The Dark Tower and Hellboy’s B.R.P.D.), Christopher Jones (Batman Strikes, Young Justice) and Ken Meyer Jr. (Kilroy is Here and Warren Ellis’ Atmospherics).

About the Author:
Rosaria Battiloro has worked with a variety of publishers in comics and children’s books. She won for Best Cover for the short tale Incontro in the Subway Metroapoli contest. Laurence Campbell’s early work included titles for Caliber and 2000AD including Judge Dredd. For Marvel, he’s illustrated Punisher Max, Deadpool Pulp, Moon Knight and Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. He is currently a regular artist on BPRD for Dark Horse. Mike Carey got his start with Caliber and 2000AD before launching the Sandman related title, Lucifer (now a TV series). He was the lead writer for Marvel’s X-Men and other work includes Hellbazer, Ultimate Fantastic Four, and his new series, Rowan’s Ruin with artist, Mike Perkins. Sam Gafford, in addition to writing a number of comics, has just finished writing a graphic novel biography of H. P. Lovecraft. Michael Gaydos is best known now for being the co-creator of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, the popular Netflix TV show but he has had an extensive career in comics including work published by many publishers including Dark Horse, IDW, Tundra, NBM, Caliber, Marvel, Image, and DC. Christopher Jones has worked for a variety of publishers but is best known for his DC work such as Batman ’66, Young Justice, The Batman Strikes, Batman and Robin and Young Heroes in Love. Vince Locke is best known in comics for being the original artist of Deadworld as well as his A History of Violence which later became the David Cronenberg directed movie. He has also worked on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, American Freak, Batman, The Spectre, and many others. Ken Meyer Jr. is known primarily for his painted work but he also has extensive work in comic illustration including Atmospherics with Warren Ellis, Kilroy is Here, Megaton, and Heavy Metal. Terry Pavlet has worked for most of the comic and gaming companies as well as Playboy, Disney, and Ballantine Books. He also provided illustrations for H.P. Lovecraft’s Reanimator Tales and The Art of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. Gary Reed is the writer of many comics and books including Deadworld, Saint Germaine, and the Harvey Award nominated, Baker Street. He often delves into historical and literary areas and has been published by Caliber, IDW, Image, Penguin, and Simon & Shuster.
