As long as there are men named Sosa and McGwire, places like Wrigley Field, next years to wait for, movies like Field of Dreams, and books like this one by former major leaguer John Morris, baseball will never lose its magical appeal. From the grind of the minors to the thrill of a major league debut...from the blur of a Nolan Ryan fastball to the hi jinks of the locker room, John Morris knows baseball first-hand after playing professionally for 12 years with the Royals, Cardinals, Phillies, and Angels. But "Bullet Bob" Comes to Louisville is much more than just another withdrawal from an ex-jock's memory bank—Morris is a gifted storyteller and writer who captures not only the details of life in and around the big leagues, but the nuances, angst, hilarity, and humanity of it as well.

About the Author:
John Morris played professional baseball for 12 years until a back injury ended his active career in 1993. He remained in baeball as a minor league instructor, coach, and manager until 1996. Morris continues to put his major league experience to use as motivational speaker and consultant to prominent collegiate baseball teams around the country.

Residents of Gulfport, Florida, Morris and his wife Linda are successful independent Nikken distributors, a leading health care provider from Japan. "Bullet Bob" Comes To Louisville is his first book.

Review:
"...A refreshing account of the existence of a modern ballplayer. It gets past today's headlines about record-setting contracts and big- and small-market teams to examine the career of a blue-collar player who loved the game he was paid to play." -- Bill Chastain, Baseball America

"...as a writer, Morris is a keen observer with a quick wit, facile memory and ability to recount compelling stories. Both Hall-of-Famers and fringe players are subjects in this collection of funny, sensitive anecdotes." -- David Plaut, USA Today Baseball Weekly

"Morris' book is a collection of 22 fascinating stories that provide valuable lessons in the game of baseball and the game of life." -- Willie McGee
