Review:
For a long time women's agendas for social change have been split into two seemingly opposite areas: personal transformation and political activism. Visionary Voices: Women On Power is a collection of interviews in which the base of women's power is examined, breaking down that traditional dichotomy. Visionary Voices is a unique range of women's experience: a former military wife, Academy Award filmmaking, practicing Buddhist, lawyers and bodyworkers, poets and activists. They are white middle class; they're white middle class; they're the children of immigrants; their grandparents were slaves; their homes are on reservations. They are Israeli, Palestinian, and Mexican. Together they offer hopeful dialogue toward global change. Visionary Voices is a significant contribution to women's studies and highly recommended for anyone interested in women's spirituality as well. -- Midwest Book Review
