Poems, prose poems and reflections, some inspired by memories of travels and everyday life, others by old tapestries of St. John writing the Book of Revelation. The title refers to the "Apocalypse Tapestries" conserved in the Château of Angers. This book has been translated into Italian (Gli Arazzi dell'Apocalisse, trans. Marco Morello, I quaderni di Hebenon, 2006) and is forthcoming in French (La Fontaine invisible, trans. Françoise Daviet, Éditions Tarabuste).

From the Back Cover:
"This book is not only a modern commentary on the Bible and Tradition, but a centuries-old Pilgrim's Progress woven with the author's life--in the patterns of the tapestries that he has studied and recorded--a pictograph that sets the scene for both the Millennium and its traducing opposite, the Apocalypse. Taylor's language is as unbiased and simple as the rocks and shards and scoria and petrified wood bits that I see in my driveway every day. The prose and poetry are sometimes very French in their formal audacity, but they also illustrate a hands-open simplicity that only an American from the heart of America's inner country could imagine. I have the sense that The Apocalypse Tapestries is destined to become a minor classic."--Larry Woiwode
