About the Author:
Michael A. Sayette, PhD, is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, with a joint appointment as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University and completed his internship at the Brown University School of Medicine. He has researched and published primarily in the area of substance abuse, and has presented seminars on applying to graduate school at several universities.

Tracy J. Mayne, PhD, received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology as an Honors Fellow at Rutgers University and completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco Medical School and the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor at New York University and a principal investigator at Gay Men's Health Crisis, where he is studying isses of medical adherence and disease prevention in people living with HIV. He has published numerous articles and chapters in the area of health psychology and emotion.

John C. Norcross, PhD, received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and completed his internship at the Brown University School of Medicine. Professor and former Chair of Psychology at the University of Scranton, he maintains an independent clinical psychology practice, is a coeditor of the American Psychological Association's Psychotherapy Videotape Series, and has authored or edited 10 books. Dr. Norcorss has conducted workshops and resaerch on graduate study in psychology for many years.
