Grade 4-7?These brief series titles are heavily pictorial, with over 40 full-color and black-and-white photographs and reproductions in each, and offer a clear overview of each state's history from prehistory to the present. Students may find them useful for simple research, or for scanning the pertinent and well-chosen illustrations. The appended pages are great for ready reference. There is a gazeteer of quick facts, a map, and pictures of the state flag, seal, and flower. Also included are lists of personalities, places to visit, and a chronological comparison of key dates in U.S. history with pivotal events in the highlighted state.
