Grade 3-5–In her second adventure, Claire begins school in a new town. She's already made one friend, Jet, and then meets Sky. Then Jet becomes obsessed with her camera and fashion, annoying Claire. Sky is worried about the pollutants in Lovesick Lake that are making her family ill. The girls must set aside their differences and help find the villains who are destroying the lake. The story concludes with directions for some photography-related crafts. The black-and-white illustrations are stiff but expressive. Young readers will relate to the rocky nature of friendship.
