Curiosity killed the cat. At least, that’s what we’ve been told. That’s the story we’ve been raised to accept. We’ve been collectively trained to remain within the confines of our comfort zones and avoid the dangers of the unknown. We need a new paradigm. To create a world in which innovation and cooperation are possible, we need to have the courage to dig deeper; we need to be willing to ask the tough questions; we need to embrace a posture of curiosity. Welcome to the curious life... The Curiosity Manifesto: A Call to Live the Curious Life is a book about learning new things and keeping an open mind. In a journalist style reminiscent of Malcolm Gladwell and a motivational style reminiscent of Seth Godin, Rice combines psychological research, historical examples, and personal anecdotes with a provocatively inspirational call-to-action to prompt his readers to live the curious life.

About the Author:
Hi, friends. My name is Doug. I'm a marketer, writer, and researcher striving to live the curious life. I have a B.S. in economics from the University of Kentucky and an M.B.A. from Youngstown State University. Currently, I reside in northeast Ohio with my wife and an ever-expanding repertoire of animal friends. Since 2010, I have earned a living primarily through Internet marketing and web copywriting. I have also been a frequent blogger, active in several online communities. I spend most of my time doing independent research: pouring through books, journals, magazines, and blogs to find the next path ripe for exploration. While my primary professional and academic area of study is consumer behavior, I also enjoy learning about history, science, communications, psychology, and more. My personal (and professional) motto is that ever-so-brilliant sentiment expressed by Albert Einstein: "I have no special talent. I'm just passionately curious." I am a writer, but only coincidentally. First and foremost, I am now and will always be a researcher. I just happen to write about some of what I study. I hope you find it as helpful as I have. Stay Curious, Doug
