INTRODUCING THE CACKELRY BOOKS

All humans must eventually die and afterlife is of universal concern. The imaginative mind looks to its best interest. Religion can guide men's souls but simple belief is not for everyone. Professor Jeremiah B Cackelry III, a brilliant Einsteinian scientist, intent on saving the world, was introduced in The Man Who Created God (Xlibris). A confirmed atheist, he married his young assistant and met death by Viagra complications.

In The Abduction (Authorhouse) his widow, Anne Duchin, married to a banker, Jeremiah B Cackelry IV, became involved in a search for a controversial writing hidden in the Great China Wall. The first Chinese ambassador made an arduous trek westward for alliances with Romans against Mongolian hordes. A chance stay at a Bethlehem farm and the Messianic Prophesy caused him to substitute his twin infant for Jesus in the manger. His second twin, assisting in burial following crucifixion, was mistaken for resurrection.

This new Cackelry book The Afterlife of a Restless Soul (Outskirts) follows his spirit into the afterlife where, finding no god, he reorganizes heaven. Disillusioned by ideal existence he returns to the planet plagued by fear that a god might exist and is likely to be a woman.

The author, a noted contributor in science and philosophy, is a phi beta kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University. His other popular books include The Precarious Human Role in a Mechanistic Universe (Xlibris), a nonfiction analysis of the trend toward atheism.

From the Author:
In this book, Jeremiah B. Cackelry III, has died after a bout with Viagra in Zurich (see The Man Who Created God) and finds himself in a sort of heaven. As a profound atheist he thought that death is death and there is nothing more.

However he is presented as perhaps in a dream or nightmare being experienced prior to death. He explains some considerations of the science of afterlife. He finds the spirit world to be empty without a god and he sets himself up as leader and organizes  heaven.

He works very hard with his spirit friend Gabrielle -- who was a lady of the evening in Hong Kong -- to find suitable activity to avoid a disease called Squawks Disease. It's the only malady in heaven and occurs when spirits are bored and aimless.

Cackelry has many meetings and meets many of the old souls of history-and visits other galaxies in exploration.  He finds his old-world enemy, Dr Anton Schicter, has become the leader of evil and dominates hell. The ultimate hell is the black hole center of the galaxy into which souls are forever terminated -- otherwise, they live forever.

Eventually Cackelry and Gabrielle become disillusioned and she produces a magic potion (originally given her in Hong Kong by the amorous Monk Ghadda) a potion he called "Contraceptione."

Cackelry is impressed by another spirit figure -- Veronique -- a spirit who seems most superior. He at times feels that she may be the god in disguise. He thinks that if there were a god she would be female -- citing reasons such as the inherent ability of females to bear, care for and raise children; the relative complexity of the female chromosome compared with the utter simplicity of the male; the fact that the corpus collossum that connects the two brain halves is so much more robust in the female; and the increasing role of women in politics, academics and leadership.

Cackelry ultimately finds himself in a hideaway in the Himalayas formerly owned by Ghadda the center of a worldwide group TPI organized to save the world.  This group had always wanted Cackelry as their leader to expand his very similar Zurich ambition (they resurrected his body in Zurich) but now he has major support and backing to really accomplish his goals.  He becomes Secretary-General of a newly organized UN and improves the world.
From the Back Cover:
Jeremiah B. Cackelry III -- physicist, astronomer, neuroscientist, educator, and "The World's Greatest Atheist" -- dies as a result of complications from Viagra at the beginning of this satirical novel about the afterlife of an atheist.

Finding himself a disembodied spirit that retains memory and consciousness, Cackelry goes about organizing the afterworld, which he calls "Spiritland." He is compelled to try to communicate with the living that there is no classic "heaven" or "hell" in the afterlife, nor any deity resembling a god.

The Afterlife of a Restless Soul
is a darkly humorous romp through the afterworld, led by a brilliant skeptic and his sexy soulmate. Together, they try to expedite evolution and help the human world advance away from an irrational belief in religion that has resulted in so much animosity and violence, toward a world unified in peaceful scientific exploration.

Highlights of this philosophical novel include:
  • Unwinding the myth of the resurrection. (p. 89-93)
  • A meeting of all the deceased Roman Catholic Popes. (pages 138-140)
  • The adventures of atheist Christopher Hitchens in the afterworld. (p. 183 & )
  • How evolution might empower women to reproduce by themselves. (pages 243-245)

The New Ten Commandments
an excerpt from the new book
The Afterlife of a Restless Soul:
But Is God Really a Woman?

by John F. Brinster

First Commandment: Thou shalt consider sexual intercourse to be primarily for procreation among married couples but can occur in other committed and mutually agreeable appropriate relationships. But thou shalt not introduce religious considerations into affairs of sex or methods of contraception. All participants in sex should be mature, responsible, medically and psychologically educated and properly advised. Same-sex partnerships, though generally discouraged, are acceptable to achieve equality of rights but should be differentiated from heterosexual marriage by the terms "marriagette" and "marriagente" for female and male combinations respectively.

Second Commandment: Thou shalt not consider religion or race when appraising or electing candidates for public office. Quality, character, and capability for the purpose should constitute the prime consideration.

Third Commandment: Thou shalt have only one uniform set of rules and laws governing all forms of society based on civil government, and those that may be related to religious tenets shall be only voluntary.

Fourth Commandment: Every normal woman shall retain the sole primary right, in consultation with medical advice, concerning potential abortion. Abortion should be discouraged except for good purpose. Abortions after the beginning of the third trimester should be avoided but, if required, should be based primarily on medical advice. There shall be no dictates by church or states regarding abortion.

Fifth Commandment: Science shall be free to determine the full nature and effects of human stem cell research in the interest of advancing mankind. There shall be no interference by religious influences.

Sixth Commandment:
Thou shalt not offer religion or religious education to the young and immature. Prayer shall be limited to churches and to private devotion. All dogmatic public references to a god must be accompanied by a disclaimer suggesting that "man does not know, for sure, if there is one." There shall be full separation between matters of church and state and should be clearly stated.

Seventh Commandment: No special tax exemptions or favored government considerations shall be offered religious organizations or to persons claiming "religious conscious." Religious members should be encouraged to contribute to the poor, homeless, mentally compromised, and needy as a matter of priority before supporting religious organizations directly.

Eighth Commandment: No nation shall form or attempt to create a theocracy. There shall be no distinction made among races, creeds, or sexes in the affairs of citizens of a nation or in the processes of governance.

Ninth Commandment: To achieve the status of a qualified religious leader, one must be licensed and must show evidence of education in theology, sciences, neuroscience, economics, physics, and astronomy.

Tenth Commandment: Religious claims shall carry the same responsibility and liability as all claims. If there is no proof of claim or of promise made, such information must be clearly set forth by claimant.
