About the Author:

Budd Harris Bishop began his museum career in 1966 as director of the Hunter Museum of Art, Chattanooga. He later became director of the Columbus (Ohio) Museum and Art and founding director (now Emeritus) of the Harn Museum of Art. In his 33 years as a director, he supervised three building programs, developed numerous collections, organized dozens of exhibitions and participated in the museum field through the Association of Art Museum Directors both as a trustee and as long-time chair of the AAMD Education Committee. He now works as a painter and art consultant in Livingston, Tennessee.
