In this book the author parts the veil of mystery, and, perhaps for the first time, presents answers to the most profound questions concerning the atonement: Why was the atonement necessary? Where did the atonement actually occur? Why did Christ have to shed his blood? How does the atonement actually work? How were people forgiven of their personal sins before the atonement occurred? How do we solve the paradox of faith and works? Is Christ's atonement enough, or must we, like Paul admonishes, work out our salvation with fear and trembling? Be prepared to have your understanding of the atonement challenged and your knowledge of the truth expanded. In the end you will be enriched, enlightened, and inspired.

Review:
October 16, 2008 Customer Review: ***** Five Star / Recommended reading for mature LDS students / Very inspiring and simple to understand. Has the additional advantage of being a fast reading. It is a beautiful doctrine which simply explains how the blessings of the Atonement can save and exalt puny little people like me. --Internet Review

Mar 11, 2012 Jessie Gibbs rated it *** This book was very well written. I enjoyed it, more as an insight into other points of view, than as something for me to follow. While there were a lot of points I agreed with, I just can't say I can accept all the thoughts in this book, because they were mainly derived from the Book of Mormon, and I am not Mormon. I ,based on my beliefs, would have preferred more use of the Bible in the writing of this book. That said, I do have to say that Kevan Clawson did a great job of writing this book and making you think. --goodreads.com
