About the Author:
Burton Hersh is best known as a biographer, although he has been writing and publishing fiction since 1966. His seminal The Old Boys: The American Elite and the Origins of the CIA (Scribners) provoked a bout of collective hydrophobia inside the intelligence community when it appeared in 1992. A surprising number of senior spies will now confess to having wolfed it down away from the office; at this point the book is recommended to its recruits by the Agency itself.
