Val Dumond is a published writer of language and history. A professional journalist turned novelist, she has written about nonsexist language, grammar, the Pacific Northwest, and women's issues.

Babe Lehrer is a supporter of the arts and especially theater. She is planning a museum to recognize Alexander Pantages, the love of Klondike Kate's life. She supplied the research for this book.
