This epic novel is one man's attempt to explore the questions: Where did the Anasazi go, and why? The story of the Anasazi Indians disappearance comes to life with vivid characters the reader can identify with and a story they can't stop reading. As the story progresses from the birth of the main character through his life as a runner to his last run, you will be deeply involved in his life and the people he touches. You will be taken from the center of Chaco Canyon, New Mexico to the outskirts of the White Sands, to the rim of the Grand Canyon, Arizona to as far north as Douglas Pass in northern Colorado. An incredible story that tells itself.

About the Author:
Norman Messenger was born in 1931, just after the "Big Depression." He went to school at Silver City, Iowa and served in the USMC during the Korean police action. Returning from Korea he was an Iowa farmer for a while. Later, in 1977, he moved to Mancos, Colorado. Here he became fascinated with the ruins on, and around, Mesa Verde. Over the course of several years he visited many of the ruins in the four corners area and felt a compelling need to tell the story of the Anasazi Indians. During the writing of Kaoto he visited all the places where Kaoto traveled. Now retired and living in Cedaredge, Colorado he continues to write. When asked, as most writers are, "What do you write about?" He answered."People. I write about people. The time or place is secondary. The people make a story worth telling."
