About the Author:

Thom J. McEvoy is an Associate Professor in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Vermont where he also holds the title of Extension Forester. He has been advising Christmas tree growers in the Northeast on management of plantation fertility for more than 20 years. McEvoy is also the author of "Legal Aspects of Owning and Managing Woodlands" (Island Press - 1998), and "Introduction to Forest Ecology and Silviculture (Cornell University NRAES - in press).
