From Library Journal:
On August 4, 1985, a ``ribbon'' com posed of tens of thousands of hand made banners illustrating the theme ``What I cannot bear to think of as lost forever in nuclear war'' encircled the Pentagon and was stretched over ten miles through Arlington, Va., and Washington, D.C. The Ribbon Project was the brainchild of Justine Merritt, a poet and grandmother who became in volved in the peace movement in 1982. The banners were quilted, pieced, em broidered, woven, and painted by peo ple of various talents from around the world. The book presents over 350 of the banners accompanied by the words of their creators. (All royalties from the sale of this book are to be donated to the Ribbon Project and the Peace Mu seum in Chicago.) Suitable for larger collections. Teri L. Blasko, Crandall Lib., Glen Falls, N.Y.
