About the Author:

Mary H. Tillman was born in Virginia and educated in North Carolina. As a young adult she moved to Wyoming and married Ralph H. Tillman, the great-great grandson of the great chief, Washakie. Her interest in and study of the Chief and his people led her to write the story of Washakie, in collaboration with her husband.
