About the Author:
Lieutenant Robert Knowles, who provides introductions to both these memoirs, is an acknowledged expert on the Napoleonic wars and is the author of Wellington's Regiments. In addition, The War in the Peninsula benefits greatly from annotation by Robert Knowles' great-great-nephew, Sir Lees Knowles.
