Each book in this series of 12 is a full-color graphic novel of a historical figure s major contributions. With sharp, clear artwork and lively dialog, the main character s life is fleshed out in four chapters. The language is appropriate for the target audience and the font is easy to read. For accuracy, each book was approved by an authoritative consultant (e.g., Clete Daniel, Professor of Labor and Industrial Relations at the North American Workers School of History at Cornell University supervised César Chávez). This format, with its limited narration and frequent direct quotes, will engage and educate young readers. All titles include a brief glossary, a website (facthound.com) with the necessary code to obtain more information, and a suggested reading list (which unfortunately includes only English-language titles).
