From the Author:
Greetings fellow readers! My name is Daniel Cruz author of Una'ria: The Vanguard Echoes. The book took 3 years to write, but it was an ambitious work that I had always dreamed of doing for the last 17 years. One of the reasons for the lengthiness was my desire to bring something new to the science fiction/fantasy scenery, like doing away with holograms and creating a new kind of visual media. The best way to explain Una'ria is that it is in essence a cross between Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy; imagine a massive summon helping Snake sneak his way into a high-tech compound built on a floating island and you'll get the picture.
The Vanguard Echoes is the first book in the Una'ria series. It is my life's work and I hope you enjoy it. For more information and several illustrations visit unaria.net.
About the Author:
Daniel Cruz conceived the wondrous universe that would ultimately become Una'ria, at the age of 9. He became acquainted with the keyboard at age 10, when Daniel began writing Looney Toones fan fictions which he would later illustrate. Quite the escapist from reality, his incessant daydreaming slowly fashioned the world of Elotha and its inhabitants throughout 17 years of his life. His first work on the universe was a 2 page chapter called Ungria (a misspelling of Unagi which he imminently came to like). Ungria was the initial name of this far away universe and in a way, Daniel Cruz is still quite fond of it. Throughout his middle and high school years, he wrote four different versions of Ungria, each a bit longer and coming ever closer to the final version. As a university student he wrote what he believed would have been his fifth and final version, a manuscript that spanned eleven chapters and 90 pages. However, the idea of the famixas and the sixth sense soon came to mind and as Daniel noticed the incredible potential of both concepts, he went back and started from scratch. Between studies and later working as a graphic artist, Una'ria The Vanguard Echoes was finally finished after 3 years of writing. Daniel Cruz currently lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he is working on the second installment: Wake of the Hellion, due late 2014.
