Keith Palmer has enjoyed many representational responsibilities, including Director of Continuing Professional Development at the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, U.K. He is currently editor-in-chief of the B.M.J. publishing group 'Occupational and Environmental Medicine' chairman of the Research Working Group of the U.K. Industrial Injuries Advisory Council, and a member of the international advisory board of the Scandinavian Journal of Work, Environment and Health. Robin Cox has spent 40 years in occupational medicine, 30 of them in full time positions such as Medical Director, Phillips Petroleum Co Europe and Africa, C.M.O., C.E.G.B. and later National Power. More recently he was Occupational Physician to Prudential Insurance Company, Goldman Sachs, Wellcome Trust and a number of other major institutions. He is currently Chief Medical Officer of Active Health Partners. He was previously Chairman U.K. Diving Medical Advisory Committee (D.M.A.C.) and the European Committee for the Biological effects of Carbon Black (E.C.B.E.C.B.) and has recently been involved with research into the health effects of mobile telephones. Dr Cox was previously Vice Dean of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Ian Palmer was appointed Chief Examiner to the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in 1995, serving for five years and introducing two new professional post-graduate medical examinations. He also Chaired a number of Government advisory committees and was awarded an O.B.E. in the recent New Years Honours for services to public health, especially food safety.
