Hardcover. Condition: Good +. First Edition Thus. 8vo, dark green cloth-covered boards, gold title on spine, rubbing to top and bottom edges and corners with loss of cloth at corners, along the edges and both ends of the spine are shredded. There are small blisters under cloth on the front board. The rear board is crack but still attached. Audubon's first edition of this manuscript was published in 1852. This is a scarce second edition of a work which is almost as unobtainable as is the first edition. There are six illustrations in the book and at the end there is a folding "Map of Audubon's Route". It is unfortunate that a previous own insisted on his name and address stamped at several locations. The pictures and the map are all in very good condition. Tapped to the last page is an article "Audubon - Failure and Success -Condensed from the New York Times Magazine (May 4, '30) written by Amy Master. There are three small paper articles glued to the rear board. For additional information see: Howes A-390, Rader 201, Graff 111, Cowan p.23, Wagner-Camp 176,208.
