Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. The tragical History of Doctor Faustus' einzugehen. 28 pp. Deutsch.

Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 2nd Edition Revised. Hardback. The Works and Life of Christopher Marlowe. Taburlaine the Great in Two Parts. Foxing to end inside covers and edge. Sunned spine to D/J. This present edition is a revision of that of 1930. The text and collations have not been altered, but some modifications and additions have been made to the notes in the light of recent research and more considerable additions to the relevant parts of the appendices, especially to the list of books and articles on Marlowwhich have special bearing on the sources, date, authorship and interpretation of Tamburlaine. Before the publication of the first edition of the play in the present series there was only one critical and annotated edition of the play, that of A. Wagner in 1885. During the last fifteen or twenty years scholars have increasingly recognised both the importance of the play's position in the the canon and its significance for students of Marlowe' art. Though none of the early editions bears his name on the title page, Tamburlaine has long been accepted as the first of Marlowe's plays and his authorship has never been seriously questioned. With Two Maps. 328 pp. Plastic protective covering. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
